Nick Hawley manages the hydropower department at BBA Engineering. He has been an engineer, manager and project manager in power utilities for over 30 years.

As the Non-Integrated Area manager at BC Hydro he was responsible for the integration of the Xeitl hydro project at the off-grid community of Atlin and the construction of the off-grid generation and distribution plant at Toad River in northern BC.  Mr. Hawley has experience in verification and commissioning of generating equipment around the world.

For the past 12 years, Mr. Hawley has been working with First Nations communities and managed several renewable energy investigation and installation projects for both on and off-grid First Nations communities. These include the Old Crow solar PV project, Community Energy Plan preparation, business case preparation for renewable energy, and energy efficiency installations in coastal off-grid communities.

Mr. Hawley has a PMP certification which supports his work as a project manager. He has extensive experience in the design and construction of hydropower stations and has project managed energy efficiency installation and solar PV construction projects.
