She has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a double minor in Political Science and Applied Disaster and Emergency Studies at Brandon University. Simultaneously, she completed a Justice Systems Certificate that incorporates Indigenous studies.
Emily has participated in both the Parliamentary Internship for the Environment, as part of the Indigenous Stream and the Manitoba Legislative Internship Program. She has gained experience in political and government spaces, working with an Indigenous Member of Parliament on important topics such as advocating for the environment, women and 2SLGBTQIA+ rights, and upholding Indigenous sovereignty.
She also has experience working on the promotion of energy efficiency, helping develop a small business on its mission to manufacture energy efficient building materials. She is excited to be working with ICE to bring her culmination of experience forward, but also to continue on her journey of learning. In her spare time, you can find Emily hanging out with her two cats, cooking a homemade meal or spending time outdoors with friends and family!
