Bill was also the co-owner and operator of a run-of-river hydroelectric generating station for over fifteen years, giving him hands-on experience in all aspects of the industry. He has worked for and alongside over a dozen First Nations.
He was a member of the Project Peer Review Committee for the FCM “Green Municipal Funds”. He was nominated for the Canadian Business “Entrepreneur of the Year” award for several years. For one of the businesses that Bill led, he was named “Professional Services Business of the Year” by the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and “Employer of the Year” by ECO Canada. Bill has spearheaded and assisted with many corporate and community development initiatives and is a specialist in the planning, assessment, management, and financial analysis of renewable energy projects.
Mentoring with ICE allows me to share my knowledge and experience in a way that may directly and positively impact the development of future leaders and economic development within First Nations and Indigenous Communities. I’ve been lucky to have good mentors throughout my career, and I enjoy giving back.
I enjoy working with community leaders, aspiring community leaders, students, and anyone interested in capacity-building related to environmentally and socially responsible initiatives.
