Indigenous Clean Energy (ICE) is an independent non-profit organization that advances broad sustainable prosperity by amplifying First Nation, Inuit, and Métis leadership in clean energy projects. Through capacity-building, career training, and mentorship with high quality and hands-on programming, ICE supports Indigenous Peoples in their clean energy journeys, while promoting meaningful collaboration with energy companies, utilities, governments, development firms, clean tech innovators, the academic sector, and capital markets.

ICE is a fully remote workplace with hybrid options for those who live in several areas within Canada. Our headquarters is currently located in Ottawa, but we have plans for an on-reserve office in the near future.
Position Summary
The Energy and Climate Resource Coordinator will play a supporting role in several emerging projects for the Energy and Climate team, including assisting the National Policy Manager with coordinating capacity for projects in which ICE is involved and amplifying the team’s work. The Energy and Climate Resources Coordinator will assist in regional, national and international projects. The role will explore and synthesize information and help turn their findings into tools and resources that support Indigenous-led energy and efficiency projects in national and global settings.
Responsibilities
- Preparing surveys, questionnaires, and forms for program analysis and feedback.
- Contributing to drafting reports for use by ICE programs and funders.
- Maintaining an organized database of knowledge, tools, and resources that support program delivery.
- Maintaining and organizing an online learning management system for global work and participant interaction.
- Developing global program content and curriculum materials
- Liaising with program participants, including during recruitment, onboarding, and as a point of contact throughout their time being involved in ICE projects.
- Researching and getting quotes for services, including accommodations, transportation, and supplies for training sessions.
- Working with the Energy and Climate team to develop policy that provides informed programming to global communities
- Coordinating participant and mentor logistics and onboarding.
- Coordinating with Indigenous and non-Indigenous industry experts and mentors to influence program design, resource offerings, and collaboration.
- Main point of contact with on-site service providers, vendors, and key contacts for Oceania projects.
- Coordinating program events, communications, and webinars with program participants.
- Supporting the development of programs, documents, policies, and procedures.
- Collaboration with ICE programs including Mentorship, Communications, and others to streamline policies, procedures, documentation.
- Gathering and assessment of program participant, coach, and mentor feedback and provides relevant suggestions to improve the program.

Skills and Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Undergraduate degree related to adult education, environment, climate change, Indigenous studies would be an asset; lived experience would be considered an equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in event planning, communications, data collection, interviewing, and data analysis would be an asset; equivalent lived experience would also be accepted.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency is considered an asset.
- Experience working in Indigenous communities is considered an asset.
- Experience working in the Oceania region is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience turning information into useful tools.
- Capable of using Microsoft Office software as well as other web-based tools like Asana.
- Able to meet deadlines and prioritize workload.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingualism will be considered an asset.
