ICE is a fully remote workplace with hybrid options for those who live in several areas within Canada. Our headquarters is currently located in Ottawa, but we have plans for an on-reserve office in the near future.
Position Summary
The ICE Mentorship Coordinator will report to the Mentorship and Resources Manager. The focus of the contributions of this team member is the dedicated recruitment, training, and administration of mentors for ICE program participants, including IODI (Indigenous Off Diesel Initiative) participants. The role will focus on mentoring ICE program participants and ensuring that IODI and other program participants possess the skills and support required for achieving their project goals. IODI participants in particular face unique challenges and opportunities faced by remote communities and this role will ensure they have the support to be successful. This position is remote, full-time permanent, involving minimal travel.
Responsibilities
Weekly team meetings with the Mentorship and Resources team
Assist in managing mentorship contracts and related financial administration
Administration of Mentorship contracts and associated financial administration
Creation and delivery of monthly ICE Mentorship Update communications
Coordinate regular check-ins for active mentors engaged in mentorship with ICE program participants, as well as with other ICE programs that use mentorship services
Management of the mentorship feedback process and analysis of submissions
Support the Program Manager in the matching and recruitment of mentors for ICE programs
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Diploma related to Business Administration, Communications, Community Engagement or related field (lived experience may also be considered as equivalent)
1-3 years of relevant work experience, lived experience is also considered an asset
Relationship-building and communication experiences with Indigenous collaborators, government stakeholders, commercial partners, funders, or other relevant parties
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Experience coordinating schedules and meetings and taking organized minutes
Writing and proof-reading written content from others
Fluency in English is required, any additional language capacity would be an asset
