In 1971, Reg started growing forest seedlings for reforestation, and this summer job turned into a 33-year career with increasing responsibilities for operations and financial outcomes. In 2004, Reg joined Atticus Financial as a financing specialist and worked with numerous clients across Canada to finance equipment and projects. In 2009, this financial experience and forestry/agricultural background led to consulting projects focused initially on biomass energy projects and, more recently, on business development challenges. Reg founded Renner Consulting in 2021 and now has extensive experience with feasibility studies, technology options, financing, and business plans.
In 2018, Reg Renner became involved with the ICE mentorship programs and has worked directly with over ten 20/20 Catalysts. He loves gardening, renovation projects, and camping with his family in his spare time.
I enjoy mentoring our future renewable energy leaders in Canada. This is an opportunity to pass down my experiences, knowledge, and practical approach to First Nation communities and their leadership teams. The future of energy supply and management is complex and sharing and learning from each other is a key to self-reliance and community sustainability.
Community leaders; particular interest in integrated community energy plans and project development; focus on biomass energy, solar, wind, and battery storage projects.
