Manager of Energy Advisor Program

Position Summary

Indigenous Clean Energy (ICE) Social Enterprise is seeking an experienced manager to lead the development and implementation of our new Energy Advisor Training Program. Working with the Director of Programs, the Manager will be responsible for ensuring the program gets delivered on time and on budget. This role will include working with experts to develop new curriculum, liaising with service organizations, and connecting with Indigenous organizations to recruit participants. Success in this position will be the certification of 15+ new Indigenous Energy Advisors supporting energy efficiency efforts in communities across Canada.

The position will be mostly remote work but will require in-person travel for the delivery of certain components of the program and team building (COVID permitting).

Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing of workplans and budgets
  • Working with Communications team to deliver a comprehensive marketing and recruitment strategy including direct outreach to Indigenous organizations
  • Creating application materials and guidelines
  • Assessing and recommending candidates for training
  • Collaborating with external contractors and experts to develop enhanced training modules
  • Coordinating training partners delivering energy advisor training
  • Supporting trainees in completing required training, testing, and other certification requirements
  • Managing the purchasing of energy advisor equipment for trainee’s organizations
  • Organizing service organizations to mentor trainees and fulfill certification

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Knowledge of energy efficiency – completion of Energy Advisor training considered a strong asset
  • At least 3 years of project management experience
  • Experience working in Indigenous housing, considered an asset
  • Experience developing and deliver training programs
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills
  • Effective partnership management skills
  • Basic understanding of managing budgets and reporting
  • Bilingualism will be considered an asset

      Status: Full-time term contract (18 months, with the possibility of an extension)

      Location: Remote Work with Occasional Travel
