We are seeking a highly self-motivated and autonomous team member to manage the grant administration process and provide support to Indigenous communities, individuals, and employers in making this process both simple and accessible. Working alongside the programs’ leads, the program officer will be expected to assist in a range of areas that includes: administering funding, gathering participant information, building relationships with funders, evaluating contribution proposals, making recommendations, and developing guidelines for contribution programs. This position requires an individual who has an appetite for taking the initiative to get things done and can work independently. Candidates for this position should have exceptional interpersonal and writing skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

- Manage and coordinate all processes related to the administration of grants and contribution agreements.
- Ensure effective communications with funders, including facilitation of meetings, preparation of agendas and informational materials.
- Liaise with Indigenous communities, organizations, key partners, industry associations, private corporations, and clean energy proponents.
- Develop and coordinate the planning and review process of grant and contribution funding requirements.
- Assist with any potential requests that might include providing grant information on a timely basis.
- Build strong relationships with both potential applicants and funders for the programs.
Education, Experience & Skills
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a combination of training and experience.
Previous experience with grants coordination and management is a strong asset.
Hands-on experience and/or thorough understanding of the needs of Indigenous communities that may face barriers to gaining full integration into the employment market.
Comfortable liaising with different stakeholders, including individuals in senior positions in communities and/or organizations.
Comfortable managing and coordinating multiple moving projects.
Strong interest in community building and inspiring interest in clean energy.
Previous experience working in youth empowerment and/or youth engagement is an asset.
Previous experience working with First Nation, Métis, and Inuit communities would be an asset.
Experience with computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Asana.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate, develop and manage good working relationships.
- Fluency in English is essential. Bilingualism is an asset.
