Stephen Cookson

Stephen Cookson has worked in renewable energy project development for over 10 years. He joined RES Canada in 2007 as a wind energy project developer and now holds the position of Director, Development for RES Canada, an affiliate of the RES group of companies that have developed and/or constructed over 8000MW of renewable energy projects worldwide. He is responsible for the development of RES Canada wind energy and transmission line projects in Quebec and Ontario, with a specific focus on Aboriginal engagement and partnerships. Stephen is currently leading the development and environmental assessment of the Wataynikaneyap Power transmission line project in northwest Ontario, a $1.5Bn, 1800km transmission line project development in partnership with and led by a group of 22 First Nation communities.
