Eric Atagotaaluk

Eric was born in Iqaluit Nunavut and has been living in Inukjuak, Nunavik since 1982, where he completed high school. Eric was first elected board member to the Pituvik Landholding Corporation in 1997 then appointed President to the corporation in 2002. He has further been elected as President by the Corporation every two years since then. In this position, he has spearheaded the Innavik Hydro Project, which hopes to meet the electricity and heating needs of the entire community of Inukjuak for the next 20 years. Eric is committed to community engagement and renewable energy in its capacity to lessen our impact on the land which we rely on for our well-being, food and cultural heritage. Eric believes that by making an investment in renewable hydro power, we will establish a stronger foundation for sustainable development for Inukjuak, and a better future for our children and grandchildren.

Eric is also the Vice-president elect to the Nunavik Landholding Corporation Association and has been employed on a full time basis for the Kativik Regional Government as a public servant since 1999.
