Nicola Ross, Editor
Nicola Ross is an accomplished writer, editor and environmental innovator. She was the executive editor of Alternatives Journal from 2006 to 2011. The author of three books, Caledon (1999), Healing the Landscape (2001) and Dufferin County (2003). Ross has been published in The Walrus, The Globe and Mail, Calgary Herald, Hamilton Spectator, Harrowsmith Country Life, Point Carbon and others. She writes a regular column on local food In the Hills magazine and is the recipient of a National Magazine Award for an article on ecological footprint. From spring to fall, she is resident at The Lodge at Pine Cove on the French River managing a diverse range of outdoor programs in the pristine environment of Canada’s first Heritage River.
John Denison, Publisher
John Denison founded and was at the helm of Boston Mills Press for 35 years. He has become celebrated as the publisher of choice for visually appealing books on topics which capture the imaginations of Canadians such as: Avro Arrow and Rendezvous with the Wild: The Boreal Forest. John continues his publishing work today through Why Knot Books and Rainforest Editions as well as writing young adult novels like Labrash and Hanna the President’s Daughter. He lives on a farm near Erin, Ontario.

Gillian Stead is an award-winning book designer and has worked on countless books, covering a variety of subjects over a long career. These include: Healing the Landscape, Rendezvous with the Wild, Estates of Old Toronto, Las Nubes: Conservation in the Cloud Forests of Costa Rica, Glenn Gould: Some Portraits of the Artist as a Young Man, to name a few., Her talent for creating visually compelling books continues, bringing to life the pages of Aboriginal Power. A mother of three, Gillian lives in Guelph, Ontario.
